having spend an entire week not doing uni work, i saw it fit to begin again...
so, i rationed my sleep and woke up in the hour of 5a.m. to start and finish my american history assignment on monday.
and just for fun, i decided to do the same for world politics today too.

and so the familiar V-induced delirium from last year made a return appearance as I wandered vaguely from my World Pol tute to Em's room at Wesley, where I began to tap away at the keyboard until it was completed.

am loving World Pol. tutes are really fun, great dynamic and good discussion. we spoke about liberalism today. alex asked us to divide into two groups: on one side of the room, those of us who thought that if the world adhered to a realist ideology (ie every one has nuclear weapons) or a liberalist ideology (democracy and international institutions), which would preserve peace.
for all my idealism, i went on the realist side. if the cold war showed us anything, it was that MAD works. countries just aren't going to stick their necks out when it risks obliterating themselves - self-interest is pretty sgnificant. even if it did mean they do their dirty work in the third world, proxy wars wouldn't eventuate if all nations had the bomb.
disconcerting, but it's still the most peaceful era we've had..

sooooooo - em and i went to ice and slice and had a milkshake then decided that 4p.m. was a good time for dinner so we had a greek pizza. as alice and em had a similar plan later on, they joined us with their gelato. alice and i then proceeded to powerwalk to her lecture at merewether. i kept up reluctantly. at the city road intersection a motorbike had been hit so the emergency services were up in arms. poor guy.
bought my english text book finally. at redfern, edi and ludo and other churchies were gathered, so we trained in. dear ludo msged me after he'd got off at central in search for his folder. it wasn't on the train - bac to uni for him. lame.
i was struggling to stay away whilst drifting in and out of a honi interview with the us ambassador to israel/palastine. sal msged me and we met up at roseville, went home and hung around in my room for a bit.
we emailed a rowing club to see if we could do recreational rowing. he replied, but i think he thinks we're young hooligans. i'll bend his arm yet.

right, so - bike, reading, bath, bed.
ciao :)
