this graceful pirouet
from life to death
leeched of life
yet full of it
as countless flakes of
trees' speckled coats
lie in crunchy mosaic
as twitching with breaths
of air and
smiling at the dappled
sun and
laughing with the children's
feet
they give themselves for
another's joy
