dreams and lattes

had such fruitful chats today. with trev about church and living a life of love, in pursuit of the heart of God. and with besty, about social justice in the church. awesome.

so great to catch up with one of my school friends yesterday. saw damien ryan's shakespeare in leura (slash wentworth falls, it was raining something torrential, so they had to move to their contingency venue.) was absolutely phenomenal. there are not many casts who could walk into a space at the same time as the audience and pull off two plays - and perform something of that calibre! it was almost better - their energy, the audience leaning into the moment, listening to the words more intently... and that's the thing with the bard - it's all in the language. the original set ryan had made was incredible, with the pucks running through the trees in the outdoor theatre, with tybalt drowning in the fountain, etc. but in reducing it to just a dingy school hall, the cast had to trust the audience with recreating it all in their imagination.

incredible.
