drove into king street with jess directing. got RAY'd several times by jase and wellsy who were following us in. much laughter was involved.
decided to splurge and get fodder at thai riffic - was outside and had really great atmosphere. the adventurous streak within us prompted a choice of octopus, qualified by the good ol' pad thai and massaman beef. some bizarre glass-flipping-magic and brown nurofen tablets later we were toddling down to ice and slice for our gelato-fix. jess and i went to the corner store to withdraw some cash, and whilst in the line i asked jess...
"hey, don't you find that the card swiping machines are different at different stores?" (to clarify, NOT talking about atms, but at restaurants etc..)
a deep, slightly seedy male voice replied: "not really"
the guy was standing unusually close to jess' left ear, and i thanked him for his insight, to which he grinned foolishly.. jess quickly withdrew her money and we bailed
whilst the girl serving us flung balls of gelato around accidentally (it was her first shift) we reminisced and told stories about things i can't remember.. we ate our gelato outside the vanguard then went in
greg cooper was supporting, and was great - jase got some good photos (practising his music journalism skillz). wasn't overwhelmed by boxquest but they were alright. sean carey - WOW amazing voice. dinner at 8 was the highlight.
upstairs, with the loud drunkards "woo, yeah"ing incredibly loudly right behind us after every single freakin song got a bit boring, but it was tops night.
drove home, battled HARD coming off the bridge, haha, had noo idea which exit was which, so got a bit of wrath from one driver... but it was all a bit of fun :P dropped jessy home, then came to bed.
