resurrection, cheap guinness and lawra

today was very pleasant.
for reasons more than one.
first, upon waking to the very distressing sound of my alarm, i quickly decided that this dark hour of 6am was far too uncivilised to be exercising out in the street (dangerous paedophiles and the like are surely prowling the avenues of roseville) and -quite literally- flung myself across the room and killed it.
i resumed sleep.
at 7:45 i scrambled to consciousness, and sent a flurry of smses to establish whether or not i had a law lecture at 9, in which case i would have to "get my commuter on" and catch the 8am train.
fortunately, it was off, and i would catch the 10am train into history.

i began to breakfast with the whole family downstairs, which is a rare phenomenon. then i had a refreshing cold shower, brushed my hair and began to download a sermon by NT Wright which we were talking about around the table at lunch yesterday, and whose book i had begun to read a few days prior. after a bit of negotiation with the iTunes, i figured it out.

i toddled off to the station.

on the train into redfern i filled my mind with the insights of wright on the resurrection whilst alice read the economist. aysha walked with us from redfern to uni. lyn wandered into us in a daze and joined the escapade to bosch. i learnt a bit about america.

el made my day when she informed me that legal research was cancelled for the week. which meant i had from 12 until 4 to waste away the day.

.. unfortunately i had readings so alice and i waddled off to victoria park and lay in the dappled sunlight. hurrah.

josh arrived. then gina and a friend joined the clan too. hannah also decided to grace us with her presence. it was quite the party.
actually, it was - a bunch to our left had cake and birthday songs.
i listened to my ipod and rev wright whilst soaking up the blue. i would say it was azure, but that just cheapens it to tryhard sophistication. but it really was refreshing.

in a nutshell: christians believe in life after life-after-death. it's not like when jesus comes he will scoop us out and off this world and take us somewhere else: he has the power to transform what already is. restoring the broken, healing the wounds, making new the old, and perfecting the blemished. it isn't that christians hope for their citizenship in heaven - our citizenship is in the new creation that god will restore when that Day comes, when we are resurrected to live the perfected lives in the perfect new creation. wow, i am so excited. lord god you are worthy of all praise!

caught up with em crouch. then went to law seminar. really enjoyed the group discussions. we had a good dynamic. alice, nick, al, taneelia, and 2 asian girls, i can't remember their names. caught train home with alic e and hannah, then continued on to hornsby to st patty's day celebrations with moldie, jj, raz, polti and byron. played pool. had guinness. nick and jase came. then i bailed. upon waltzing through the door, i watched lawra with big and decided that i really need some exercise. looking forward to hockey.

now i'm in bed. eagerly anticipating sleep. yumyumyum.
